Rumor has it that Chemo’s beginnings stretch back to the 1970s in Canada where this heavy indica boasting 23-25% thc was allegedly developed to treat the side effects of chemotherapy. Another name for this strain is “UBC Chemo” in reference to the university in which Chemo is said to have been conceived. Chemo’s genetics is carried on by Jordan of the Islands, whose rendition is best known for its subtle woody aroma and potent medicinal effects perfect for patients treating nausea, appetite loss, pain, and sleeplessness.

UBC Chemo has easily become one of my new favourite strains. With QualityBudz living up to their name, UBC Chemo is a prime example. Normally, I order Comatose OG but many find the drowsiness hits fast, ending sesh nights a bit early. However with Chemo, the initial high is very uplifting and sociable. This flavorful, super sticky strain has become a staple of my sesh nights, and I would love to see it stay offered on QB. The high gradually transitions to a comfortable body high, aiding for sleeplessness and hunger while keeping the euphoric from earlier. As someone who smokes rather heavily, I find this rare strain fairly versatile. Day or night (but mainly night, as it is a pretty potent indica), this is an excellent strain that I would highly recommend.
